The evenings of murderous tales and infamous hauntings October 17 – November 1, 2008 Tours depart 6 - 9:40PM from the Vancouver Museum (1100 Chestnut St.)
2 hours long, suitable for ages 13+ Info: www.vanmuseum.bc.ca
Imagine being seduced off a beaten trail in Stanley Park into the thick wilderness. You come eye-to-eye with the most dreaded of all things - the ‘lure’. Your will-power disappears, your intelligence slips away, you circle and circle until you die, and then your spirit keeps on circling. More than fifty years ago, a tourist couple was lost in Stanley Park. When found a week later, the man was dead and the woman mad – everyone believes they encountered ‘the lure’. Or, imagine you are getting worse each day while dying a slow, painful death at VGH. The only bright moment is when your loving husband brings you a milk-shake. And he does come every day with one. Only, unknown to you and the doctors, each day your favourite drink is laced with more arsenic. You will hear these and other gruesome stories on the Haunted Vancouver Trolley Tour. You will visit eerie locations such as Mountain View Cemetery and the autopsy room of the Vancouver Police Museum where over 15,000 autopsies have been performed. You will see streets and homes, just like your own, which seem quaint and normal, but if you look closely enough within the city’s four walls, its back alleys, main streets, gathering places and forgotten corners, you will see the picture of dark and devastating events start to take shape. A new and darker Vancouver will emerge and you’ll see this city through very different eyes… SOLD OUT LAST YEAR! BUY EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT |
